Photo of the Day From Cambodia – Field Work
Welcome to Photo of the Day – From Cambodia.
The photos that are posted have been taken during our motorbike, jeep or other tours that we offer at Sabai Adventures Cambodia. Everyday we explore hidden areas and come across wonderful landscapes and fascinating people along the way.
Cambodia is an amazing country full of culture, colour, and character. Through our photos we would like to share Cambodia with the world.
Harvest season is upon us here in Cambodia (mid-November). Today’s photo is in honor of Cambodia’s most essential product, rice. Rice is extremely important in Cambodian society and consumed at almost every meal. Rice is grown throughout much of the Kingdom. A common greeting in Cambodia is yam bai? which translates to, have you eaten rice?
Traditional techniques are still practiced today in many parts of the country but this is changing as more industrial methods are introduced. While on tour, we take guests to see and experience the traditional culture and ways of rice farming. These techniques have been passed down through the generations since the time of the Angkor Empire.
